2nd Amendment Argument

By Ken David

Every time there's a mass shooting, the first thing the people on the left do is jump to "Remove the Guns!"
We have a 2nd Amendment, and we are a Constitutional Republic. Our Commander & Chief actually said, "The 2nd Amendment is not absolute." Well, actually, "It Is!" He also likes to bring up the fact that guns are for hunting only. He likes to inject deer into these ridiculous scenarios. "Deer wearing Kevlar Vests" & such. Well, Mr. Biden, I can tell you without any doubt that the 2nd Amendment has absolutely nothing to do with hunting.

The men who drew up our Constitution knew very well that any government, left unchecked, would most certainly wind up holding its citizens in tyranny with sheer force and power. The 2nd Amendment is designed to make sure "The People" would hold the power. We would be able to police ourselves. These were men who had already fought in the French/Indian War and the Revolutionary War. They knew very well that self-protection would be the only advantage we'd have over a land grabbing despotism, whether it be a government 1,000 miles away or one right here in our own back yard.

Our founding fathers weren't idiots. They knew that arms would improve over time. They knew about the invention of gun powder and knew how the arms had improved to what they had at the time they drew up the Constitution. The purpose of the 2nd Amendment was to allow "The People" to possess anything needed to overcome the advances of an over-bearing government. Truth be told, we should be allowed to own M-16's & .50 Cals.  We can own cannons Mr. Biden, and if we can afford it, a tank if we please.

To win the wars they did, it was necessary to possess the same armaments that those they were fighting possessed. They would certainly expect us to do the same today. So, stop whining about AK-47's and AR-15's which are "Semi-Automatics." We can't legally own grenades or C-4 or fully automatic rifles. So, take a pill. How many of these nut-jobs that create this carnage have been on FBI watch lists? How many have given off plenty of red flags? The problem is the crazies, it isn't the friggin' gun!

Let's take a look at this last school-shooting shall we?

Here's a kid that gave out all the signals that went unchecked. He was outside the school shooting off rounds for 12 minutes before he opened a door that was left ajar, which should have closed and locked. The person that was supposed to be securing the school was not there. The answer to school shootings is actually quite simple and if the school didn't drop the ball on every single level, 21 people would be alive and well this morning with their family and loved ones.

On the morning of April 19, 1775, Capt. John Parker of the Lexington Militia handed out some rifles and called upon anyone in town with a weapon to join he and his men. These citizens were called "Minutemen." There was already a small, regulated militia in Lexington, but certainly not enough to stand against the 700 troops marching toward them. So, the 2nd Amendment does say "Regulated Militia", but it also means that every man should have arms prepared for anything that may arise to preserve the Liberty and Blessings to secure the well-being of our future posterity. It doesn't mention AR-15's, but it also doesn't mention Muskets and that's what they used.
